Territorial Championships were held in Yellowknife in May 2007.  This competition saw gymnasts from Yellowknife and Hay River competing for their respected clubs.  We had boys competing in Level 1 and Level 3 and the girls competed in Pre-Competive and Provincial level 1, 2 and 3.

The Ed Bennington Award was presented to Nick Walker of the Yellowknife GYmnastics Club.

There was a new award presented this year to a precompetitive or first year competitive girl at the Yellowknife Gymnastics Club.  The recipient of the first Denise Robinson Award was Abigale Coad, a first year competitive gymnast and a young girl who was coached by Denise in the past.

Summer was a busy time for the coaches and athletes at the Yellowknife Gymnastics Club.  The competitive gymnasts took a short break and then continued with thier training.  Summer day camp programs were run for the recreational level kids.

Yvonne Meulenbreuk from Norman Wells has continued to show her dedication to the sport and continues to come to Yellowknife to train.  Yvonne hopes to be the first gymnast from Norman Wells to compete in Gymnastics at the Arctic Winter Games.

Jon Mason and Andrew Robinson travelled to Ontario this summer to complete the Technical portion of their NCCP Level 3 coaching certification.  Jon took the Men's course and Andrew took the Women's course.
